| Zahara
de los Atunes
This relaxed and peaceful location is an oasis
of calm and nature with a certain hippie touch characterised
by unspoiled beaches and crystal clear waters.
This village of tuna fishermen has become one the most prestigious
tourist destinations in Spain.
Its excellent climate makes it an attractive destination year-round
and is particularly popular with tourists from Central Europe.
BEACHES
A long beach of white sand preserved in part because it falls
with in a military district. With moderate waves and a constant
wind it is a secluded and intimate location, particularly in
the areas furthest from town.
In the vicinity of Cabo Plata, there is an area of exclusive
chalets, quiet beaches and an exuberant natural landscape.
The beach is reached by a narrow road that winds along the side
of the mountains offering spectacular views of the sea and the
luxurious private villas.
The Playa de los Alemanes is a small bay which ends at Punta
Camarinal. This is a very quiet area with few services on offer,
adding to the feeling of seclusion. The beach has strong currents
and waves and caution is recommended when swimming.
Beyond Punta Camarinal there stretches a fantastic beach,
almost totally isolated with pine forests reaching to the shore.
It can be reached from the lighthouse by following a difficult
winding path.
