Getting
to Vejer
Vejer
de la Frontera is located on the N-340 motorway from Cádiz to
Algeciras. The first and most used access is at Km 34, with
a second at km 36 which ends near the Town Hall.
The town can also be accessed by the Barbate road near the Santuario
de la Virgen de la Oliva. The closest airports are in Jerez
de la Frontera and Malaga while train service is available from
Cádiz.
Vejer is mere minutes from some of the best and most unspoiled
beaches in Spain: Caños de la Meca, Conil, Zahara, Bolonia (a
large beach with Roman ruins) as well as extensive pine forests
within the National Park.
The port towns of Algeciras and Tarifa are a few kilometres
away, offering ferry service across the Strait of Gibraltar
for trips to Africa.
BUSES TO VEJER
Vejer has frequent bus service to local town as well as larger
cities such as Seville, Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera, Algeciras
and Malaga. Bus service to local towns is expanded in summer
months.
There are two bus stations in Vejer:
• La Barca de Vejer, located on the side of the hill of Vejer.
This station is a couple of kilometres outside the urban centre.
The hill is steep and difficult (there is a route behind the
Venta Pino). The best solution is to take a taxi into town.
This is the station offering the most connections to Vejer.
• The bus station in town is on Avda. Los Remedios, as your
enter Vejer.

BY CAR
Vejer is well connected via the N-340 motorway. From Seville
take the Cádiz Motorway and follow the turnoff to Algeciras.
